Revd Peter Sellick has been appointed as Development Director for CIGB. Peter been working in areas of Industrial Mission for 10 years, based in West Bromwich in the Black Country. He has also been a parish priest in the Church of England for 18 years. Originally from the fringes of London, he has lived and worked in Leeds and Edinburgh, as well as Germany and Zimbabwe. Peter commented, “It is good news that the Churches in Birmingham are supporting this role in times of economic restraint. The Church of England reported to the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards: ‘ if the church is not engaged with businesses, we must partly blame ourselves when the country’s economic values lead to disappointment’. Workplaces in Birmingham and Solihull are full of people with humanity, vision and faith: CIGB is well placed to work with them.”
